Synopsis ‘Chantecler, improvised pseudonym, is a show written and directed by Israel Reyes, about the life and work of Alfonso García-Ramos, protagonist of Canary Islands Literature 2026. It covers fragments of his novels ‘Teneyda’ and ‘Guad’, his play ‘Tristeza sobre un caballo blanco’ (Sadness on a White Horse), which was staged in 1985, and ‘Las islas van mar afuera’ (The Islands Go Out to Sea), which completes the literary archipelago that makes up the author's work. As if it were an improvisation exercise, the proposal moves between a theatrical game and improvisation as a scenic proposal. Two actresses, an actor, and a saxophonist will play with García-Ramos's works. His press works and novels are the starting point for the game that creates an apparently improvised narrative about the author's texts taken to other contexts to thus draw a new story about his figure, aimed at all audiences.
