Conferences — «XII Meeting with Whistled Language» in La Aldea de San Nicolás, Gran Canaria. La Aldea de San Nicolás will become a meeting point for the study and dissemination of whistled language in the Canary Islands. On May 15, 16, and 17, 2026, the Yo Silbo Association will hold its XII Meeting in the municipality, an event aimed at all those interested in whistled language in general and in that of the Canary Islands in particular. Presentations, demonstrations, and much more whistling. The Yo Silbo Association invites participation in the presentation of communications related directly or indirectly to whistled language: its historical extent, past, present and future, uses, experiences, characteristics, learning, or revaluation processes, among other aspects. Presentations should have a duration of between 20 and 45 minutes.
